Private Peter Bartleson appears on a 1794 Return of the 4th Company of the 5th Regiment of the Militia of the City of Philadelphia, commanded by Lieut.Col. Commandant, in the 1st Battalion under Capt. Jacob. Bright. (Philadelphia City and County Militia, 1790-1800 - PA Archives {Ser. 6} V:540) Elizabeth Bartleson was born on 30 April 1795 to Ann Reddifer & Peter Bartleson. Private Peter Bartleson was a member of Henry Meyer's Company, 1st Brigade, Volunteer Infantry Militia of the State of Pennsylvania, who attested to having received one dollar additional pay, by act of Assembly, for services "under the requisition of the President of the 4th of July, 1814, and subsequent thereto..." Biddle as Quota of Militia of the State of Pennsylvania in the service of the United States, under the requisition of the President of the 4th of July, 1814, and subsequent thereto, all of whom, at Camp Dupont on 7 Oct 1814, acknowledged receipt of $6 as additional pay allowed by Act of Assembly.
